On Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30 pm we are presenting 15 candidates to the Bishop from Sacred Heart and St. Mary on the Lake. Beyond the classroom, our service work took place at our Pancake Breakfast, Sacred Heart Gala, St. Nicholas Breakfast, caroling to shut-ins, making a meal for Share the Warmth in Hillsdale, a community prayer walk and our recent Catholic Social Justice project of collecting personal care items for their peers in need.
Through these works of mercy, the students have learned that taking on the Sacrament of Confirmation means you are fully a member of the Church, giving you great responsibilities to serve others within your community through the God-given gifts we have. Each student was touched by their retreat from Fearless Ministries in the fall. We all left “wanting more” of Jesus and the gift of Adoration. We appreciate all those who have supported our efforts financially and for the gift of the Student Bibles from the Knights of Columbus. Please keep praying for these young Catholics as they embrace their faith and discern how to use the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in their everyday lives. Engage with them and ask them to be involved in other parish ministries. I tell them often: this is just not the end of your journey – this is just the beginning of using your Faith! – Jen Loar
