Dear Sacred Heart & St. Mary on the Lake,

A reminder that weather permitting we will have Mass at Calvary Cemetery at 8:00am on May 26th . It is really a powerful way to begin this day praying for those who have given their lives fighting for the liberties we take for granted. In the event of inclement weather, we will have Mass at Sacred Heart.

St. Mary on the Lake update:

I am sorry to say that Suzzanne Sinkovitz will leaving us at St. Mary on the Lake to begin working at her home parish of Queen of the Miraculous Medal in Jackson. Very close to home, she will have a four-block commute to work instead of a 35-minute drive. She will be returning as a daughter of her parish to run the front office. She will begin that job July 1st . That will be a great help with us as we transition and post for her position.

Suzzanne has been a great blessing for not only St. Mary on the Lake but also for Sacred Heart as our parishes have been working collaboratively. She has been a great part of our team. I am very sorry to see her go and I am doing my best not to sulk – this really is a great blessing for her to be able to work so close to her home. Queen’s gain is our loss. Suzzanne, thank you!

Please let me know if you, or someone you know, is interested. If so, please send your resume to Fr. Todd at frtodd@sacredhearthudson.org

Sacred Heart School Window Update:

As a reminder on the process so far: Last fall, we developed a potential list of eight bidders based on regional general contractors with experience in performing this type of work, recommendations by the diocese, and suggestions from parishioners. Qualified bidders needed strong resumes performing window replacement and remodeling for historical type buildings, along with the resources for a turn-key, construction management contract.

After interviewing these contractors, four were invited to bid the project with two contractors submitting bid packages. The two remaining contractors were either non-responsive or declined to bid based on their current project workload.

After reviewing the two bids with our own committee and the help of the Diocese, we have awarded the project to Krieghoff. I am very excited for the plans for our new windows!

Our architect is working on new windows that would fill the

original window openings (currently the windows are roughly half the size of the original window openings). It will be beautiful to see the school back to its original design. We will have some drawings available to show what they will look like. They will be doing work this summer to finalize the design and we will order the new windows this fall with construction taking place the summer of 2026.

Thank you all for your generosity in getting us here! Gifts have still been coming in for the project and will offset the amount we would have to take from savings. Thank you!

God Bless!

Fr. Todd
