Fr. Todd Bulletin Article 9/27/26
Dear Sacred Heart and St. Mary on the Lake,
Fr. Paul, Fr. Kusi, and myself will be gone this week Monday-Thursday for our annual priest convocation. There will be a Monday morning Mass but no Masses Tuesday-Thursday. Please pray for us as we get together and we will be praying for you. It is always so good to see the brothers.
Next Sunday, October 4th is the annual Roast beef dinner at Sacred Heart. I hope to see you there as you stop by for delicious take out meals.
I want to highlight an upcoming retreat/series of retreats. The Diocese of Lansing Office of Marriage, Family, and Life is very glad to once again offer robust and meaningful enrichment and healing opportunities for Adult Children of Divorce and Separation to augment your parish ministry. This fall and winter, the Life-Giving Wounds Lansing Chapter is offering a series of one-day retreats for young adults and adults whose parents are divorced or separated.
For many adult children of divorce, the wounds of their parents’ separation continue to shape their relationships, identity, sense of belonging, and even their relationship with God and His Church. Life-Giving Wounds helps participants recognize these wounds and begin to understand them through the lens of their deepest identity as beloved children of God.
This retreat is an important opportunity to help adult children of divorce and separation discover that the Church has a place for their story and a path toward healing. Through teaching, reflection, spiritual practices, and the Sacraments, participants are invited to move from the broken image of love they may have experienced toward a deeper understanding of God's faithful and life-giving love.
The three retreats will take place throughout 2026 and 2027, with each one focusing on a different aspect of the healing journey. Participants may attend one, two, or all three; no previous attendance is required.

Dcn. Aaron Peterson from St. Anthony’s in Hillsdale has been on these retreats and was deeply moved by how healing it was for him. This is very much in his heart and he will be helping lead the retreat on October 3rd. If this is a part of your story please consider taking part.
God Bless, Fr. Todd
