Fr. Todd Bulletin Article 7/26/26

Dear Sacred Heart and St. Mary on the Lake,

                 I will be gone July 27-August 3 for vacation.  I will be heading out west with my twin brother, Fr. Gary, and our oldest brother.  We will be splitting our time between Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.  This will be my first visit to these national parks and I have heard how beautiful they are.  All three of us love hiking so it is going to be a great time.  Fr. Kusi will be covering daily Masses while I am away.  On the weekend of August 1^st/2^nd Fr. Kusi will be celebrating Masses at St. Mary on the Lake.  Fr. Jim Eisele, a newly retired priest, will be celebrating the Masses at Sacred Heart.

  A reminder about some upcoming events.  We will have our joint parish picnic hosted at St.  Mary on the Lake.  It will be Friday, August 7^th, from 5-7 pm with food available.  It is a really fun evening getting everyone together. On Saturday, August 15^th, we will have our parish-to-parish walking pilgrimage.  We will start walking at Sacred Heart at 8am and walk to St. Mary on the Lake where the Knights of Columbus will have food waiting for our pilgrims.  There will be a truck going up and down the route to help our pilgrims.  You can get a ride if needed, they will have water and snacks, and they will also be towing a porta-potty should a bathroom break be needed.

 The AC installation project at Sacred Heart is set to kickoff roughly this week/the first week of August.  It is expected that it will take two weeks.  Hopefully it will be up and running to catch some of August.

It has been great to see new carpet in the Church Hall.  A couple of weeks ago, we had coffee and donuts after the 11am Mass and there was a herd of small children running all over the stage and side ledges getting the new carpet broken in.  It brought me great joy to see it being enjoyed.  A big thank you to the Knights of Columbus who tore out the old carpet and supported this project.

The window replacement project at Sacred Heart School is coming along very nicely.  Thank you for your generous care for our school- it is amazing the difference these windows have made inside and out of the school.  When it is wrapped up, we will have a weekend where people can walk through after Masses to see it.  

 I need to say a big thank you to all who have made all these many projects possible – the landscaping work and rectory improvements for Fr. Kusi at St. Mary on the Lake, and all the things mentioned above at Sacred Heart.  Buildings never exist for themselves but for what they make possible.  God coming to us and all of us able to better walk with one another.  Fr. Kusi is loving his new home with us.  I love seeing our parishes being places of prayer and community from Masses, times of adoration and confessions, to Totus Tuus, to our parish picnic, to the funeral luncheons helping grieving families, to our school filled with students, and all the many other things besides.
