Fr. Todd Bulletin Article 6/28/26

Dear Sacred Heart and St. Mary on the Lake,

We have a lot happening this weekend!  I am so pleased to welcome Fr. Josh Bauer for a Mass of Thanksgiving this weekend at our 11am Mass at Sacred Heart.  It was great to have him with us many times over the years as a seminarian and he left his mark with us- particularly helping with painting at Sacred Heart School and other projects.  But it was better yet to see him grow into his vocation and now to welcome him as a priest.  We will have a reception/parish breakfast following the 11am Mass in the Hall where he will be giving first blessings.  Fr. Josh will begin his assignment at St. Francis of Assisi in Ann Arbor this coming week.

Sr. Francis de Sales (six years into her time with the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist), is back for a home visit and will also be at the reception at the 11am Mass if you would like to see here and say hi.  She just completed her teaching certificate and will be going this fall to teach in their mission in Long Island.  Just a little change from Hudson!

Fr. Kusi is celebrating his last Masses at St. James in Mason this weekend.  Then he will be officially retiring and entering senior priest status.  This coming week he will officially move into the rectory at St. Mary on the Lake.  He is very excited to be moving down to his retirement home.  He is a great priest and I am looking forward to everyone having the chance to meet him.  He will be a great blessing for our parishes and our whole area.

Totus Tuus July 12-17

The mission of the Totus Tuus Summer Program is to inspire in the next generation a true longing for holiness, a deep desire for daily conversion, and an openness to their vocation by constantly challenging them to give themselves to Christ through Mary’s example.  The goal of Totus Tuus is to help young people develop their relationship with Jesus Christ through fun, interactive presentations about Jesus, the lives of the Saints, and mysteries of the Rosary. College-age missionaries are trained to go to a parish for a week and put on a 'parish mission' to teach the Faith and inspire the young.

The Totus Tuus Missionary Team consists of four college aged catechist/witnesses. There will be two young women, and two young men who have committed their summer to deepening their own faith through prayer, worship, and spreading the word of God at witnesses.

The Totus Tuus Program is designed for young people first grade through high school in two separate programs. The middle school/high school program will run in the evenings from Sunday, July 12-16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  .

The Elementary Program for grades 1-6 is during the day Monday, July 13-17.  The Elementary program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be Mass each day, time for Confession, Adoration, and fellowship.  If you have not already done so, please sign up!

On the 27th my parent’s celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.  This Sunday we are having a family day at my parents with all of us kids and grandkids.  Getting us all together can be like herding cats so it will be really fun to celebrate with Mom and Dad and see everyone.

God Bless, Fr. Todd
