Dear Sacred Heart and St. Mary on the Lake,

We celebrate Catholic School’s week starting this Sunday! Following the 11am Mass this weekend at Sacred Heart we will have our annual open house. It is a great time for all families to come by and see our beautiful school. Families who already have children attending but will have some younger kids starting next year, new prospective families, and our many beloved benefactors. If you have never been over to the school come on by! Another great way to experience the school is to come to our weekly 9am Friday school Mass.
A couple of weeks ago I was on the front sidewalk with our principal, Mrs. Atkin, for morning drop off. One of our 2nd graders came up with a book on the saints that she had been reading and told us- “I want to be a saint!”. I can’t tell you how much that warmed my heart!
To know how to live well we need to know the answers to two essential questions- who am I and what am I made for? We are meant to be saints- living well in this world but not for this world. Partnering with our families, we are able to help them chart the right course with an eternal perspective right alongside a top-notch education. This second grader already knows who she is and what she is made for- from which she will be able to live and choose well.
One another note, our music teams at both parishes are working on implementing a quiet time 15 minutes before Masses start to help those who would like to prepare and pray quietly before Masses. I know some really love to pray the Rosary before Mass and this will provide a nice window for that. Let us support one another in prayerfully preparing for Mass
God Bless,
Fr. Todd
